NJ Pathways Happenings: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Completion Ceremony

On Thursday, May 9th, Union College of Union County, NJ (UCNJ) celebrated the completion of six students participating in the Certified Medical Assistant pilot program funded through the NJ Pathways Center of Workforce Innovation for Patient Care. These students successfully finished the six-month Certified Medical Assistant Program at UCNJ’s Plainfield campus.
Dr. Lisa Hiscano, Executive Director for Continuing Education and Workforce Development, along with Monique Brathwaite, Program Director for Allied Health Training Programs, and Instructor Kieyeitha Ward, awarded completion certificates to the students. The event was attended by the students’ families, friends, and staff, who all gathered to applaud their achievements.
Notably, two employer partners, Atlantic Health Systems and Union County Healthcare Associates/MD Care and Urgent Care Center, attended the ceremony. All six CMA Program graduates are currently employed as Certified Medical Assistants.
