The NJ Council of County Colleges (NJCCC), in partnership with Attentive Energy Two (an offshore wind project developing clean energy opportunities for NJ), welcomed over 50 attendees from NJ’s Community Colleges, including students and faculty, to Atlantic City  to participate in a unique networking and programmatic experience at the American Clean Power’s Offshore WINDPOWER conference. The Offshore WINDPOWER conference is one of the largest offshore wind conferences in the country.

Attentive Energy Two sponsored the day passes and provided attendees with a unique opportunity to engage with industry professionals at the conference. The special conference activities curated just for NJ’s Community Colleges featured an overview of the Attentive Energy Two project, a career roundtable with offshore wind industry experts, and invaluable networking opportunities with industry and supply chain providers. These activities gave community college students and faculty from across the state a firsthand understanding of the industry and facilitated direct interactions with industry experts. Before and after the lunch program, students and faculty were encouraged to use their all-access passes to explore the convention floor and sit in on ACP panel sessions.

Attentive Energy Two’s collaboration with the NJCCC runs far deeper than this conference. As part of its commitments to New Jersey, Attentive Energy Two will sponsor the expansion of the Center of Workforce Innovation for Offshore Wind under the Community College led NJ Pathways to Career Opportunities statewide initiative. Within the Center of Workforce Innovation, cross-sector education partners will establish a collaborative offshore wind education ecosystem. Attentive Energy Two will provide funding for the development of offshore wind-related education and workforce training programs with an emphasis on partnerships between higher education institutions and local high schools to integrate individuals at the earliest point in their workforce journeys into the offshore wind industry.
