Dorothy Hall

Dorothy “Dot” Hall marks an extraordinary milestone in 2024 – her 25th anniversary on the Salem Community College (SCC) Board of Trustees. She is the longest-serving board member in college history.  During her distinguished tenure, Dot led two successful presidential searches and has served in leadership positions multiple times.  In addition to her leadership role with the New Jersey Council of County Colleges, she chairs the Salem Community College Foundation Board.

Dot leads by example.  During her nearly quarter century as a trustee, she goes to great lengths to attend as many SCC events as possible, frequently rearranging her schedule to participate.

Dot and husband Jon generously support the SCC scholarship fund as sponsors of the SCC Foundation’s annual events, including the Gala.  Her generosity also enabled the college to obtain a donated baby grand piano that is used by the SCC Oak Singers.  In 2019, she received Salem Community College’s Benefactor Award.

Dot started her career in product development at General Foods, working on the launch of Crystal Light and later joined the Campbell Soup Co.  She created many new products and later managed many successful brand teams, retiring as a member of the company leadership team in 2011.  She received Campbell Soup’s annual Community Service Award.

In addition, Dot was recognized as a Woman of Achievement in both Camden and Salem Counties, and awarded the Crystal Rose Lifetime Achievement Award from the Salem County Chamber of Commerce.

After retiring from Campbell Soup, Dot worked part time at Rutgers Food Innovation Center for many years, helping entrepreneurs commercialize their food and beverage products.

A resident of Alloway, N.J., Dot is also a long-time bassoon (and occasional sax and clarinet) player in the Salem American Legion Band.
