NJ Pathways Project Highlight: NJ Cyber Pathways to Cloud Computing

The NJ Cyber Pathways to Cloud Computing Pathways Project included three NJ Community Colleges (Ocean County College, Raritan Valley Community College, and Rowan College at Burlington County). Those three Community Colleges developed two cybersecurity certificate programs using three instructional delivery modalities: face-to-face, HyFlex, and asynchronous online instruction.

The 10 courses developed align the students’ outcomes with industry-recognized certifications and with NIST Workforce Framework of Cybersecurity (NICE Framework). The 10 courses are three-credits each, yielding two 30-hour certificate program pathways.

The courses were reviewed by industry experts to ensure their relevance and quality.

The courses were reviewed by industry experts to ensure their relevance to labor market needs and quality. These new pathways were made available to students in Spring 2024 and Fall 2024. Each course completed by students is transferable between the three partner colleges, which enables seamless transferability of the credits.

The instructional content that was created includes syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments for face-to-face, HyFlex, and online instructional delivery modalities. In addition, Prior Learning Assessments (PLAs), video production of course materials, and alignment of course names were developed between the three partner colleges. All these materials are presently available to all Community Colleges and will soon be added to the data/curriculum repository at www.njpathways.org for the accessibility of all the state’s education partners.
